New! Best Practices to Remove Image Backgrounds

There are two ways to remove the background of a subject in the RxPhoto Mobile App on the device (iPhone/iPad).
  1. From the image preview immediately after capturing the image using Depth Mode (available on devices that support Portrait Mode.) See "New! Background Removal" for details.
  2. From the Client Photos section of the Client Record (available on all devices).
Note that background removal is only available on devices that support Portrait Mode. Here is the complete list of compatible devices:

  • iPhone X

  • iPhone XS / XS Max

  • iPhone 11

  • iPhone 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max

  • iPhone 12 / 12 Mini

  • iPhone 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max

For Best Results

While the background of an image may be removed from both the preview of the image, and from the saved image in the Photos section of the Client Record, these two options use two different types of technology. For best results in utilizing the background removal tool, remove the background from the image preview before saving the image to the Client Record. If using sequences, this also means before pressing the next arrow to move to the next angle in the sequence.
